I got this idea from a blog by a friend of a friend of a friend of my daughter Jodi, got that? Seriously...I love checking out other people's blogs, but don't like to find out that everyone else has way more interesting lives & things to say than I do. So, I have to steal ideas from people like "Betsy." I hope she doesn't mind because this is kind of fun. Here goes:
My life according to Google: (I'm picking the best & cleanest ones)
*Cheryl needs her head examined (no kidding, that's why I've been going to therapy for years!)--it also said "Cheryl needs to quit sending me dirty e-mails" but I don't think that one's very nice.
*Cheryl looks like the love child of Bozo the Clown & a crackhead. (Well, ok...hmmm...I wonder if Dad's the clown or the crackhead? Oh, wait! I've got it!! Since Mom has red hair, Dad's the crackhead--LOL!!!)
*Cheryl does Turkey (like in the country--which is cool since I love to travel)
*Cheryl hates Waldorf Salads--(VERY TRUE-yuck!)
*Cheryl has gone blind--(Wow, that sucks! How am I going to put my make-up on in the morning? I can see me--oops, can't see me--with mascara stuck to my chin.)
*Cheryl loves God (yes, I do), also...Cheryl loves You!
*Cheryl eats M&M's without using her hands. (Very easy--just suck 'em up! Ya get more that way.)
*Cheryl has won a free trip (Yeah, I WISH!!)
*Cheryl died in a car accident (the way I drive, people would say "yep...that could happen")
*Cheryl won't be tricked twice (nope, no way, nada, never gonna happen)
*Cheryl can't "curb her enthusiasm" (Sure, that's me enthusiastic! Now can I take a nap?)
*Cheryl feels a connection with Francis (Hey, where's this Francis? If you find him, send him my way! I NEED Francis--that should have been #1 up top there.)
**I'm adding one more: Cheryl means "Loved one, she is happy, kind and always sees the best in others. A warm person." (Awww, warm fuzzy feeling inside...sniff)
You wanna see your life according to Google?? Its easy, all you have to do is:
1: Type in "[your name] needs" in the Google search:
2: Type in "[your name] looks like" in Google search:
3: Type in "[your name] does" in Google search:
4: Type in "[your name] hates" in Google search:
5: Type in "[your name] goes" or "..has gone" in Google search:
6: Type in "[your name] loves" in Google search:
7: Type in "[your name] eats" in Google search:
8: Type in "[your name] has" in Google search:
9: Type in "[your name] died" in Google search:
10: Type in "[your name] won't" in Google Search:
11: Type in "[your name] can't" in Google Search:
12: Type in [ your name ] feels in Google Search :
(Thanx Betsy for giving me this idea! It was fun AND time consuming. Now, I don't have time to clean out my closet--oh well, Shannon said she will just move to the side when we open the closet door.)

MY LIFE ACCORDING TO GOOGLE

CLOSETS ARE MEANT FOR HIDING STUFF, RIGHT?
I'm getting ready to paint my bedroom because I'm redecorating it, remember? Yesterday, I took "crap" off the walls & plant shelves. Ya know, old dusty, ugly silk flower arrangements (seriously, what was I thinking when I bought those??), outdated pictures--don't worry, not family pictures--I would NEVER hang family pictures on my bedroom wall because I just KNOW they're looking at BIG old me in my "nothings." (I do have a few family pictures, but they're kind of old so they don't count and they're on shelves not facing any "important places.") Anyway, this afternoon after I get home from babysitting, I'm GOING TO tackle cleaning out my closet. Now you're asking yourself, "Why does she have to clean out her closet when she's painting the room? No one paints their closet! What a nut!" Oh, I know...there are many reasons...first of all, whenever I open the closet door, I get knocked over with all of the "stuff" falling out of it. Then, of course there's the fact that you have to paint the little part that wraps around from the wall so you HAVE TO open the closet doors to paint there AND LEAVE THEM open till it dries. And last but not least, Shannon, my cool, wonderful daughter-in-law has so kindly offered to help me paint. There is NO way she's seeing inside that closet! Who would help me paint if she opens it & all the crap falls out, bonks her on the head, & she has to go to the hospital?

ON THE PHONE WITH THE GRANDKIDS
I get to talk with Jodi & the grand kids almost every day. Most often, Jodi will call me almost on the dot at 8 a.m. We talk a bit about what we're going to do that day--mostly something together. Then the kids HAVE TO talk to Grandma which makes me feel all warm & tingly all over. Well, it's great until there's fighting over who gets to talk first & when one does get to talk there's "but I'm not done yet," so there's pushing & shoving, weeping & wailing, & gnashing of teeth. I normally ask each one what they just ate for breakfast, are they watching Sesame Street, if they slept good last night & what did they dream about. Madison pretty much always dreams about her & I doing something (of course, it's probably made up, but heck...makes me feel so special). A few days ago, Maddie said she dreamt of her & I on the golf (Goff) cart, then she "remembered" Olivia was on there, then Shannon & Tyler, & oh yeah, Grandpa, then Kristine (step-Grandma). Man, loaded "Goff" cart & of course I was driving! Wow! Hopefully she didn't dream about the part I envisioned when I turned a corner & Grandpa (my ex) fell off--LOL! Next came Olivia's dream. When I asked her, she dreamt about a "monster." I said, "Oh my gosh! You should dream about nice things like little kittens, (this is before the STUPID coyotes got them!!!) or cute little puppy dogs." Her reply was(insert child's voice of TOTAL disgust here) "Grandma, I didn't dream about 'pee pee bugs!!" I guess she didn't hear puppy dogs correctly, huh?

GOOFY GRANDMA DOES IT AGAIN!
I'm a clutz. Just ask my family! So, I'll share something with you if you promise not to laugh. The other day when I was shopping at "My Favorite Store," (see below post), I got done with all of that & just HAD to shuffle on over to Ulta (the high priced personal care/make up, etc. store) to get my favorite color of nail polish. I have lots of favorites, huh? Well, it's this color called "Naughty," maybe that's why. Anyway, I digress as usual...I put the Bed Bath & Beyond purchases in the trunk, got my Ulta coupon--yes, another coupon, & started shuffling over to Ulta. I shuffle a lot 'cuz my flip flops are bulky. As I shuffled along, I was looking at my coupon & the ads in the flyer when out of nowhere, there's this bump in the sidewalk. Hmmm...where did that come from? My foot bonked the bump. I just knew where I was going...down, down, down. S L O W motion brain, thinking ooohhh, if I could just stop myself, but I kept
g o i n g down. There I was, bumped my knee & scratched my hand (my knee still hurts--sniff...). Surreptitiously, I look around out of the corner of my eye to make sure no one saw this most embarrassing moment. Just then, a little boy about the age of 2 says "Mommy, that lady falled down." GREAT, just what I need..an observant 2 year old! So, Mommy calls over to the overweight duffus on the ground asking if I was ok. "Yes, I'm ok, thank you. Just embarrassed." I picked myself up, brushed myself off, & nonchalantly shuffled toward Ulta again. Of course Mommy & 2 year old were going to the same place. When we "met up" at the door, she held it open for me, the clutz (she probably realized it would be safer if she did). I told her that I shouldn't have been reading my coupon while walking & she so nicely deflected the whole thing by saying, "Aren't coupons great?" Thank goodness for nice people!

MY FAVORITE STORE
Right now, I'll tell you I DO NOT SEW (at least on a machine). I haven't sewn from a pattern since Jr. High (the "olden days") when we made those goofy dresses with the zippers & darts (hmmm...do clothes have darts in them anymore? I'll have to check.) I have a sewing machine, just in case I HAVE to do something very simple, but that's it. It pretty much just helps keep dust off of other stuff--it all flocks to the machine.
Anyway, I went to Joann's (the major fabric store here) yesterday with Jodi & the kids to check out fabric for some new valances & a decorative pillow for my bedroom that I'm redecorating. We found some really nice material, but it was going to be WAY expensive, so I decided before I get it, I would check at one of my favorite stores--Bed Bath & Beyond for pre-made valances. (They have the most awsome coupon policy!!) Meanwhile, my expert (Jodi) took the kids to swim lessons.
So, I checked Bed Bath & Beyond & was shocked at the cost of the valances that I wanted ($59 each & I needed 4!). That didn't even count the sheers that I might need. So, back to Joann's I went...Yeah, I do that a lot. Can't make up my mind & I go back & forth for the best deal. I also stand in front of things for the LONGEST time trying to "decide." (I probably look like I'm a mannequin standing there for so long.) So, ok...this time I'm at Joann's without Jodi, the person who sews everything. I get the pattern, the material, thread, and the decorative cording & shuffle over to the cutting counter, where Jodi has promised me, "they will help you figure out how much material you need Mom, don't worry." Well, I get up to the lady & show her the pattern, tell her I don't sew & ask her if she can help me. She immediately says, "don't look at me...", turns to her co-worker who immediately says, "don't look at me..." I knew I was in trouble. GREAT! The lady took the pattern, huffily I might add, looked at it, looked at it again & said, "I don't know." (AREN'T THEY SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO FIGURE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU NEED? I THOUGHT THEY ALL COULD DO THAT!) So, I take the pattern back & proceed to figure stuff, in my head, which is all jumbled from my old age, having children & grandchildren who took most of my brain cells, & all the meds I take. Ok, so I guessed at the yardage which took me a while & of course the lady kept getting all impatient shifting from one foot to the other.
Then, I had to figure out how much cording I would need. If you've ever seen the "Notions" part of a pattern, you can understand that for someone like me, it can be confusing especially when there's 2 types of cording that I would need. It was in the language of "SEW." I asked her if she knew what certain things meant. AGAIN with the "I don't know." By now, I'm pretty frustrated because I was promised by "someone" that they are experts & would help me. FINALLY, on my own I figured out the cording & guess what??? They didn't have enough of one of them! Who knew you would need 10 yards of decorative cording just for some valances! I asked her to put the material to the side while I shuffled back to see if there was some other cording I could use.
Once I decided on different cording, after standing around like a mannequin again, I shuffled back to the counter. There, I took number "99" from the number machine "to help serve you better" (yeah, sure...) They were on number "94" but there were only 2 other people there & one was already being helped. Hmmm....so the other clerk hollers "95!" Looks around...no one answers. Hollers again...no answers again. She asks this older lady what her number is--number "98," & the older lady goes up to the counter & proceeds to put down her stuff. The clerk hollers "95!" again. Hmmm...finally, she gets this disgusted look on her face because the older lady hadn't walked right up to where the clerk had been standing (which was in this teeny tiny corner where she couldn't do anything anyway). Finally, my turn. I didn't even wait for the lady to call "99" because I was the only one left waiting. Guess what? I got the same clerk again. She gets all huffy because apparently now she has to print up a whole new ticket to add the cording I just brought up. She couldn't just make an additional ticket?? Well, ok fine, I just want to get out of there. She does her "job," hands me my stuff & I start to leave. By then, the other clerk was done with the older lady & she hollers "99!" I turned around & said, "I was 99 & have already been helped." If looks could kill...the 2 clerks proceeded to stare each other down over a number! I was outta there so fast. Nothing good about 2 clerks with scissors. Of course, they probably couldn't measure the distance between each other anyway, so really no danger there.
Now, here's where I really have some fun people...I get up to the cashier who rings everything up. I've had this cashier before & she's the S L O W E S T cashier there & talks her way through the process every time. Not my day! So, she finally tells me how much the whole thing is going to be & guess what?? Just $20 less than what I figured I could buy them already made up for at my favorite store--Bed Bath & Beyond!! Just so you know, you can't bring already cut material back once you've paid for it, but...I hadn't paid for it yet. Ha! I got the last laugh! I decided I didn't want the valance material--only the pillow material. So, the cashier had to have another clerk go back, ask the "cutter" lady which ones to "take off" (I could have told her that because remember, I do not sew but I guess I know as much about fabric as the "cutter" lady.)
I got REALLY pretty valances from my favorite store, Bed Bath & Beyond, who has the most awesome coupon policy! After using my multiple coupons & a $25 off card that had expired (they always let you use multiple & expired coupons), the total cost of the valances was almost the same amount & a lot less hassle!! They even smiled.

OH, OH...TAGGED AGAIN!
I guess I asked for this one, didn't I? I suggested to Leah that she tag Jodi again when she got one, so here's payback. This tag is called "SEVEN FUN FACTS ABOUT ME," though I don't know if you'll think these facts are fun or not. Here goes:
1. When I was five, I was run over by a tractor. My uncle was driving, I was wiggling around & fell. The back tire ran over me & because I was so tiny, I went in between the lugs of the new tires. Yes people, I used to be tiny. I remember laying on my uncle's couch, then the next was looking up at the dr. in the hospital. I've written about this in my blog before, but anyway, the dr. stitched up my eyebrow (that's why one is lower than the other) & wouldn't charge my parents anything because when my Dad was in high school, he had saved the Dr.'s son's life when he was drowning in a canal. Mom tells me I couldn't walk for 6 months. I don't remember that. Because of that, I've had trouble with my back & neck all my life. About 13 years ago, I had bone taken out of my hip & fused into discs in my neck, then a titanium plate screwed in with 6 screws--apparently to keep my head from falling off--LOL! I don't have good range of motion but I think when I tilt my head, my brains are falling out. That's why I can't remember things & I'M STICKING TO THAT STORY!!
2. I loved to be on my uncle's farm during the summer, swam in the canal with my 2nd cousin & beavers (LOL!), & begged my uncle to let me drive the tractor when they hauled hay. Yes, the earlier mishap with the tractor apparently didn't bother me. Even though I'm OCD, I loved then & now to go to the farm & let the newborn calf's suck my thumb (which ends up they pretty much suck your hand, etc.)--didn't bother me to get slimy, I just washed it off. Other goo drives me crazy. I guess it was their big, brown eyes with eyelashes I would kill to have.
3. As you can tell, from early on I loved to drive. So at around age 9, I learned how to drive a motorcycle--not a big one, but eventually got to a bigger one. From the start, Dad wouldn't cut me any slack. If I fell over, I picked me & the bike up. I learned how to climb hills, drive through thick sand going pretty fast, etc. I got my first driving ticket at the age of 13 for driving without a license, no helmet, no registration, passenger with an underage driver, you name it, it was ticketed. Long story, posted before, but my parents took care of the ticket.
4. I also learned to drive our "Super Jeep" at an early age. My parents have a picture of me jumping the jeep several feet off the ground. We went 4-wheeling all the time & my Mom & sister would get out at dangerous points while Dad & I had a ball! Danger & speed apparently equal fun in my book. Now, I love go carts--the faster the better!
5. I always wanted to be an Archaeologist. I've always been fascinated about the "old" history & love to watch the Discovery Channel, History Channel, etc. If my life were different, I would go back 30 or so years ago & study that in college. BUT, if I had done that, would I still have the 2 great kids that I have (Jodi & Tyler)? What about the 2 sweet grandkids. Maybe it worked out for the best.
6. I LOVE being a Mom & Grandma. I don't think I was a very good Mom to my kids-one reason was because I worked so much. I worked for 22 years at "the phone company" & much of that was mandatory overtime--about 14 hr. days, 6 days a week. Jodi was expected to do a lot. So, thank goodness they treat me so good anyways & I'm so lucky they live so close to me! I'm on permanent disability now so I get to spend lots more time with my grandkids, so hopefully I can be a better Grandma than I was a Mom.
7. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE to travel & if there's a "sugar daddy" out there that would like to take me on trips, here I am!
So, now there you have it. Sordid details you never wanted to know about me. I have already tagged pretty much anyone & everyone that I can think of, but here's a few possibly creative tags: Tyler because even though Shannon has been tagged, he IS the other half of their blog (he's going to KILL me--oh well...), Mom because she's the "better half" of the blog (Dad's going to KILL me too!--oh well...), Madison AND Olivia because they are the sweetest grandkids a Grandma could have & I want to know about them through their eyes & not Jodi's. I don't have 7, but those are the ones I would like to read about for now.
