HAPPY MUSIC

(Turn up the sound if you dare OR click pause on my playlist below if you're at work & your co-workers would fly out of their seats when the music starts--oh yeah, it's probably already started by now, huh? LOL! Gotcha!)

The other day, I was driving down the freeway, just happier than can be, listening to a song that really gets my blood pumping, & if I wasn't so self-conscious, I'd be bouncing all over the place, "driving along in my automobile" (get it--it's a song--I guess you've got to be older). So, I got wondering, what song, when you're driving down the road all by yourself, "gets you going?" (Yeah, Moms...I know driving by yourself is an impossibility, but work with me here...) Anyway, ya know, singing out loud, etc., etc., etc. The song I was listening to was "Candyman" by Christina Aguilera. Oh, oh...I got another one!! Remember Jodi's blog about when we went to the Scrapbook party & we listened to "Party Like a Rock Star?" (That one's on my playlist now too. Yippee!) My Dad will probably say something like Roger Whitaker (oh man, ya REALLY gotta listen to that guy--NOT!), Willie Nelson, or Barbara Streisand. Need I go on? (Seriously, I've seen his CD's!) Yep, I realize I just ticked Dad off & he won't write a nice comment, oh well...

By the way, as if you REALLY care but this is my blog...I FINALLY had to take all the Pink Floyd off my iPod & will just have to stick to the CD's. Have you ever noticed that their songs all flow into the next one? VERY annoying when your setting is "Random" or "Shuffle" & listening to a cool song & it stops...just stops!!! My son Tyler had his iPod on "Shuffle" & was listening to Nine Inch Nails & then the next thing to come on was this book, "Jesus the Christ." Ummm...I don't think those two go well together.

Candyman is one of my favorites to exercise to, but I can't listen to it in the car with the kids, 'cause it's a bit naughty. Party Like a Rock Star is fun to bop down the road to (but again, not with the kids, 'cause I don't need them to start flashing gang signs or anything). As you know, we get to listen to stuff like the Enchanted soundtrack and the Lion King soundtrack. Now THAT's what gets my blood pumpin'. Mmm hmmmm...

Ooh that is a good song to bop to. Adelaide came in the room when the song came on and started dancing. Whenever we are in the car with the radio on, she yells, "louder mom, LOUDER!" She LOVES loud music. I have fun rockin out in the car with her and I don't care who's lookin'. (and I've gotten lots of funny looks from others cars!)

That IS a fun song to listen to! Hadn't heard it before (mostly because the language on the radio has gotten bad enough lately that I'm afraid to listen with the kids in the car, so I've been sticking to CD's with songs I know are "clean", or the classical music station for Emily's benefit--she loves it!)

PS my current music obsession is pretty much anything Jack Johnson. And although the language stinks in just about all their songs, I still really like to listen to Green Day when I don't have kids with me. ha ha ha!

otherwise, I truly am very ignorant of who the popular musicians are right now (because of the lack of listening to the radio)

I used to be a big country music fan, but it's gotten kind of "hokey pokey" in my opinion, so there truly isn't a genre of music I lay claim to as my favorite. I like a little bit of this and that.
